The Tom Tom has been very useful with directing us with our daily estimates, in outlying areas, it's much easier, than using the road atlas, and is a great time saver.

I've had one of these for over 2 years. My wife wanted a GPS for her car so to make it simple I this to give her the exact same model as myself to make it easier for me to help her with it. They are very simple to use and never needs to be rebooted or have any other problems. I've had many passengers in my car who have Garmin's comment on how much better this TOM TOM is. It also has almost all the same features as the built in GPS options the auto manufactures sell for thousands. It has Bluetooth speaker phone for your cell, MP3 Player and much more. It doesn't integrate with the car's computer to tell me if I'll run out of gas before my destination but it's almost $2,000 cheaper than what Honda wanted for their in car GPS and the maps are much cheaper to update.

Need Better Warranty Coverage

I had purchased a GO730 the unit is great, the problem is the warranty. I have bought this product new, and after 5 mos. had a problem with software. The pages start moving all by itself, this became a problem especially when your driving and not know the area and need the driving map. I contacted TomTom support, which was great trying to fix it from home. After the 3rd attempt they decided it was best just to send it to them. I had felt since this was a software issue that i should have received a new one, since that is how i purchased it, they felt otherwise and refused to send me a new one. They had sent a refurbished unit, since I make my living using the GO 730 I thought they should have respected my opionion. I have a GO630 and have not had a problem with this and its been over a year. The 730 had alot more features that I liked that is why I purchased another GO product. What do you think, please comment!!!!!

I bought the Go 730 to use in my work truck,thinking I could use the fm transmitter to play music off a sd card thus saving me the need to put a cd player in my vehicle. The GPS function of this device seems to work properly but the FM transmitter/music playback leave a lot to be desired. The unit will decide to change its settings on its own...meaning you'll have it set to transmit the music to your fm radio but it will decide to play music out of the internal speaker while the menu screen says its still set to fm radio. I try to change the setting but the unit does not respond I have to turn the unit off and restart it to get it to respond. I've been in contact with tomtom tech support on several (many) occasions. Be ready to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a human to get on the line. We performed soft resets,hard resets,factory setting resets,apps removal and reinstall only to have it continue to malfunction. Tomtom has replaced the unit twice in less than 2 months,the first time the fist week of arrival,and now again...2 weeks after getting it from tomtom. Tomtom has had this device more than I have. The GPS functions do seem to work properly and the advanced lane guidance is a cool feature. This unit will get you to your destination...but don't buy buy it thinking its the cure for crummy radio programming in your city. If I had it to do over again I would buy another 540...seeing as how I already have on and it does not give me these headache's

Having owned Tom Tom products for many years I am dissapointed in the delay that I experience when powering up the unit. Sometimes there is as much as 5 minutes delay with the unit aquiring a signal. My one call to customer service also left me less than satisfied due to the lack of explanation of the problem by the cs rep. It is really annoying when the customer service folks think that you should know everything there is about the unit when you call them. If I had known the answer, then I would not have called them!
